Bognor Regis is the number one resort for sun. You don't have to wander far to find soft sands and calm seas, which invite swimmers, windsurfers and people who want to mess about in boats. The newly refurbished promenade promises the best in seaside tradition: the original Victorian bandstand, recently restored, hosts performances every weekend throughout the summer.
If it's children's shows or family entertainment you want, Butlins Family Entertainment Centre is on your doorstep. If messing about in the water sounds fun, try the 'Splash' a sub-tropical waterworld with 'Pinball', 'Masterblaster' and 'Spacebowl' interactive flume rides.
It's official! Bognor Regis had the highest recorded sunshine hours in Britain in 1996 and 1998 to reinforce its consistent good record. Meteorological Office statistics show Bognor Regis has regularly been at or near the top of the British sunshine league. That is because Sussex by the Sea lies in the lee of Selsey Bill, sheltered by the Isle of Wight and the South Downs, bad weather tends to track north or south leaving Sussex by the Sea dry and sunny.
