It's a very stylish resort with elegant Victorian terraces and white villas, and has as a backdrop the famous seven hills.

Torquay boasts a huge selection of places to stay for both the holiday and business traveller. Luxury hotels and friendly B&Bs and Guest Houses are plentiful along with self catering accommodation in character cottages and apartments. You'll also find a good choice of caravan holiday parks with both static and touring facilities along with excellent facilities for campers at many sites around the resort.

Torquay has a wide range of shopping facilities from the modern state of the art undercover shopping centre to small harbourside shops. An unusual shopping venue is the Pavilion, built in 1912 as an Edwardian Theatre it now houses specialist boutiques and shops. A café and restaurant are set on the terrace and offer breathtaking views.

Pavement cafes, bars and bistros line the harbourside and seafront and a fantastic choice of world-wide dishes are available in the many and varied restaurants. The choice of accommodation is huge and varied from elegant country house hotels, guesthouses, cosy B & B's, self catering apartments to holiday parks and camp-sites.

The World's most famous crime writer, Dame Agatha Christie, was born and raised in Torquay and the town honours her with exhibitions about her life. Why not follow the Agatha Christie Mile and see the scenes of Miss Marple's detective work.
